Narcan5America is a public-health training project with a single goal: equip every American with the knowledge and the medicine to reverse an opioid overdose. The training takes twenty minutes. The medicine takes thirty seconds.
Why autonomous
Traditional naloxone training requires scheduling a class, finding an instructor, and traveling. Most overdoses don't wait. We built this program so anyone, anywhere, can learn at 2 a.m. on their phone and walk away with a real working knowledge of overdose response.
Where the curriculum comes from
The modules are written against publicly available guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the Harm Reduction Coalition's overdose-response standards. We use the SAVE ME protocol because it's the framework adopted by most U.S. first responders.
What this certificate is — and isn't
Your certificate confirms that you've completed an educational training. It is not a clinical license, does not replace jurisdiction-specific EMS training, and is not required by law to administer naloxone. (All 50 states have Good Samaritan laws that protect lay responders.) It is a useful proof of training to share with employers, schools, and community organizations.
